Dachshund You Believe It’s Already Patio Season?

The café umbrellas are up, the low riders are sunbathing, and someone submitted a haiku about kielbasa.

Patio season means one thing: more opportunities for strangers to ask, “How long is he, really?” We answer with diplomacy and a laminated FAQ that says “long enough to reach the crumbs.”

Yesterday a child asked if our dogs were “stretchy sausages.” We explained evolution, selective breeding, and the importance of respectful language. Then the child offered a pretzel stick and became an honorary herd member.

If you bring a lawn chair, prepare to share leg room. Dachshunds do not recognize personal space; they recognize warmth. Consider it a compliment when someone parks on your foot.
